Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

Getting you started…

CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) is required for anyone wishing to ride a motorcycle on public roads. At 16 years old a CBT Test pass will allow you to ride a moped or scooter up to 49cc with L Plates. At 17 years old a CBT Certificate will allow you to ride a motorcycle or scooter up to 125cc with L Plates.

A1 + A2 Restricted Access

The next step, after your CBT…

This category is open for people aged 19 and upwards. You will be training on a motorcycle which is above 395cc. Again the way we structure your training we will ensure that you are above the standard required by the DVSA to pass their test so that once you are passed your test you have a better understanding of the skills required to stay safe on the roads. If you pass the A2 category at 19 then it opens up the progressive access route towards being able to do the class A licence at 21.
